Dear readers,

My name is Yang Seung-jo, chairman of the National Assembly’s Health and Welfare Committee.

I sincerely congratulate the first release of The Korea Biomedical Review (KBR), the English sister paper of The Korean Doctors’ Weekly. The weekly has led the nation’s bio-healthcare journalism since its establishment 25 years ago.

The overseas advance of the domestic medical service providers has been accelerating amid the snowballing number of foreign patients visiting Korea. With the advent of new medical technology to combine information- communication technology with artificial intelligence, the healthcare area is facing radical changes. This sector has to overcome internal conflict and animosity to approach the public with better services and policies.

Under the situation, the release of KBR has significant meaning because it is specializing in the healthcare field for foreigners who are interested in Korea’s advanced medical services and healthcare industry. I expect KBR plays a significant role in attracting foreign patients and helping the domestic medical institutions enter into overseas markets.

I congratulate the first release of the KBR again and want to say thank you on behalf of all readers who read and support The Korean Doctors’ Weekly.

Thank you.

Rep. Yang Seung-jo
Chairman
Health and Welfare Committee
National Assembly
