Dear readers,

I am Rep. Kim Kwang-soo of the People’s Party, serving as our party’s secretary for the National Assembly Committee of Health and Welfare.

I sincerely congratulate the inaugural publication of the “Korea Biomedical Review,” the nation’s first English newspaper specializing in the healthcare industry.

The need for leading a healthy life has never been important than now, marked by constant changes. Particularly, advancing Korea’s medical industry and promoting its healthcare sector is a crucial matter to be tackled on the national level.

Against this backdrop, I hope that The Korea Doctor’s Weekly, which faces its 25th anniversary this year, will grow into an information provider that plays a crucial role in enhancing people’s health in keeping with the rapidly changing medical and media environment.

As the multi-lateral contact point for citizens, English media and multimedia news will hopefully achieve active communication with its readers, and thereby provide diverse information about the healthcare industry. We hope that KBR contributes to pioneering foreign markets and attracting foreign patients to domestic medical institutions.

I also wish the newspaper will provide various contact points and interactive communication with the general public, along with its English sister publication and other multimedia news-delivering functions, providing diverse information about the healthcare industry and helping the domestic medical institutions attract foreign patients.

Once again, I send my heartfelt congratulation to the first release of KBR. And I hope The Korean Doctors’ Weekly, which has given extensive publicity to health and welfare systems and policies and conveyed the voices of industrialists to its readers, will play the role of a bridge linking the government, parliament and medical fields and make another leap through the provision of high-quality information.

Thank you.

Rep. Kim Kwang-soo
Secretary of the People’s Party
National Assembly Committee of Health and Welfare
