Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization (Korea BIO) said Monday that it is participating in the U.S. Redefining Early Stage Investments (RESI) Conference by forming a group of promising bio startup companies.

The group, named K-Startup Meetup 2018 Boston, comprises 13 promising local biotechnology businesses to promote domestic bio startup technologies and attract investment from U.S. investors at the conference.

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion and Commercialization Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes are also sponsoring the group.

Korea Bio made efforts to maximize the results at RESI by preparing the companies with three pre-IR pitching training sessions, including inviting global investment professionals and one-to-one partnering.

“The fact that many bio startups are participating in this year’s event shows the advancement of Korea’s bio startup businesses,” an organization official said. “We will continue to discover good startup companies and introduce them to domestic and foreign markets.”
