Korea to promote digital healthcare firms in Southeast Asia

The Ministry of Health and Welfare will hold an event in Hanoi and Jakarta to introduce Korean digital healthcare companies this week.

Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will also join forces to host the “2018 Digital Healthcare Southeast Asia Road Show,” the ministry said.

As the demand for digital healthcare is expected to increase in Vietnam and Indonesia, the Seoul government will support the Korean firms with global technological competitiveness enter the two markets, the ministry added.

Eleven domestic companies will participate in the government’s roadshow, including Lemon Healthcare, BIT Computer, Selvas AI, IRM, HBA, InnoRules, Insung Information, KT, TechHeim, and Hyundai Information Technology.

During the event in each country, organizers will hold a digital healthcare seminar and a business meeting between Korean companies and local firms. Visits to local leading companies and hospitals are also scheduled.

At the seminar, local government officials will offer a briefing on digital healthcare policies. Korean participating companies will also introduce their products, systems, and services.

On Monday in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Agency of Medical Services Administration will present “Vietnam’s digital healthcare trends and plans.” On Thursday in Indonesia, the Indonesian Ministry of Health will explain “the Indonesian government’s strategy and policy for digital healthcare.”

Participating Korean companies will have an opportunity to promote their medical systems, services, and products built upon their ICT (Information, Communications, and Technology).

The Korean companies will have a one-on-one business meeting with 55 local institutions to share interests and discuss business opportunities.

In Vietnam, the Korean digital healthcare companies will visit Viettel Telecom, Viet Duc Hospital, and Bạch Mai Hospital. In Indonesia on Friday, they will visit Siloam Hospital in Jakarta to check the level of the local medical services.
