Seoul National University Bundang Hospital said that it has agreed with Moscow International Medical Cluster to construct a smart hospital within the Skolkovo Innovation Center (SIC)

Under the accord, SNUBH will establish a Korean-style high-tech hospital in the SIC in Moscow to promote medical cooperation between Korea and Russia.

“The establishment of the Korean Smart Hospital in the SIC is currently receiving much attention and support from the Russian government,” Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said. “The innovative operation model of SNUBH and the introduction of its renowned medical information system are proceeding as scheduled.”

The hospital construction budget is already secured, and the construction will start in 2019, he added.

SNUBH President and CEO Jheon Sang-hoon, also said, “The new hospital will be equipped with SNUBH’s world-class medical technology and hospital operation know-how, and will provide high-quality medical services in Russia. As one of the best medical education institutions in Korea, we will play a big role in education and research of Russian medical staff.”

SNUBH has been spearheading the program to build a smart hospital since it signed a business agreement with the medical cluster during President Moon Jae-in’s visit on June 22. After signing the contract, the hospital opened a project preparation office SIC and launched a hospital construction project team.

The hospital said it is smoothly proceeding with plans to receive investment from Russia’s Tashir group and plans to finalize the deal along with the hospital’s construction deal by the end of March this year.
