Neofect said Monday that it has registered a patent regarding the sensor technology for its Raphael Smart Glove in the United States.

Raphael Smart Glove is a therapeutic medical device that allows patients with central nervous system disorders, such as stroke, to rehabilitate their fingers, wrists and lower arms through various rehabilitation games.

The games stimulate both the patient's sense of sight and auditory senses simultaneously to help improve brain plasticity.

The device also provides personalized software that allows patients to do rehabilitation work at home, similar to that of exercises done at hospitals. Just as physicians and therapists offer training schedules tailored to the patient's condition and progression, the artificial intelligence equipped on the machine can identify the patient's condition and provide personalized training and control game difficulty in real time.

Also, Raphael Home, which is the world's first artificial intelligence rehabilitation B2C (business to consumer) platform for patients, has won high satisfaction from stroke patients after a clinical trial by the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center.

The company plans to expand the therapist further remote rehabilitation coaching service based on the Raphael Smart Rehabilitation Platform in the U.S.

“We will contribute to overseas market entry and sales expansion by continuing to register for patent applications in the U.S. market,” Neofect CEO Ban Ho-young said.
