ResMed, a U.S.-based medical equipment company that primarily deals with equipment for treating sleep-related breathing disorders and other respiratory conditions, said Friday that it has acquired HB Healthcare.

HB Healthcare is a fast-growing Korean company in the field of home medical equipment market, providing sleep and respiratory disease solutions and home care services for local patients.

Through the acquisition of HB Healthcare, ResMed plans to provide home care services to millions of patients in Korea through its connected care system, while strengthening its local operations through its trusted official partners, the company said.

“With this acquisition, ResMed has once again set a leading position in the domestic continuous positive airway pressure and respiratory disease treatment market, while reaffirming the company’s commitment to providing better home care services to improve the quality of life for Korean patients,” said Kim Ho-kyun, ResMed sales and marketing director.

The company will continue its efforts to maintain a stronger cooperative relationship with existing domestic partners and also provide treatment opportunities to more domestic patients by maximizing access to treatments for patients with sleep and respiratory diseases through ResMed's exclusive connected care system, Kim added.
