Prednisolone valeroacetate, a major component of Dupien, is one of the topical corticosteroids, a mild steroidal ingredient and a popular treatment for seborrheic dermatitis.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that often occurs as a result of the growth of various bacteria in areas with high sebum secretion. The condition is most common in the scalp and causes dry rice bran-shaped epidermis, also known as dandruff, while in severe cases can lead to hair loss.

The company’s treatment has an anti-inflammatory, itching and irritation effects. It also contains allantois and menthol ingredients, which help keep the scalp moist and refreshing.

“Dupein is easy to carry with 30ml capacity and can be used anytime and anywhere easily,” the company said. “It can also be applied to the affected part several times a day.”

As Dupien is an over-the-counter (OTC) drug, patients suffering from seborrheic dermatitis can purchase Dupien at local pharmacies.
