LEO Pharma Korea said Tuesday it appointed Shin Jung-beom as its new chief executive officer. The new CEO started working as the CEO of the company last Monday.

Before the appointment, Shin had served as head of the Roche Korea's oncology business division.

"CEO Shin contributed greatly to the growth of Roche Korea by further strengthening Roche's leadership in oncology treatment," the company said. "In particular, he achieved a successful partnership with various stakeholders both in and outside the organization based on his experiences and leadership, ranging from sales marketing to commercialization."

Before joining Roche Korea, he also worked in sales, marketing and planning and strategy departments at Sanofi-Aventis Korea and Lily Korea, and received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

"I am delighted to lead LEO Pharma Korea, one of the leaders in the area of skin disease treatment," Shin said. "By focusing on LEO Pharma Korea's patient-centered value, our company will strive to contribute to improving the quality of life of domestic patients suffering from skin diseases."
