Daewoong Pharmaceutical대웅제약 (CEO Lee Jong-wook이종욱) said Tuesday it held a workshop for employees from overseas branches to increase their job capabilities and knowledge about the company.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s employees from overseas branches listen to a lecture at the “2017 Main Talent Workshop” held at the company’s headquarter office in southern Seoul, from last Thursday to Tuesday.

The company’s first “2017 Main Talent Workshop” held from last Thursday to Tuesday invited 20 employees selected for outstanding work performance and potential from five countries, including China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The workshop offered lectures on Daewoong business divisions, corporate culture and company status at its headquarters in Samsung-dong, southern Seoul. The participants also took a tour around the company’s Osong Plant and Central Research Institute in North Chungcheong Province while experiencing Korean culture by visiting Seoul’s major attractions.

“I was able to get good ideas and advice regarding how to improve my work through discussions with other outstanding employees at different branches,” said Mine, an employee from the Philippine branch.

Jeon Seung-ho전승호, VP of Global Business Division, said “As part of the program to nurture outstanding talent in overseas offices, we expect to have educated and delivered practical and useful contents through the lectures provided in the workshop. We hope that this workshop has fostered communication between the head office and the branch office.”

The pharmaceutical company operates overseas subsidiaries in eight countries, which also include the United States, India, and Japan. Daewoong plans to create an export network of 100 countries to generate more revenue from overseas sales by 202, called the “Global 2020 Vision.”
