Sanofi Pasteur Korea사노피파스퇴르, the vaccines division of the multinational pharmaceutical Sanofi사노, has appointed Baptiste de Clarens as their new CEO, the company said Wednesday.

De Clarens joined Sanofi Pasteur in 2006, where he was responsible for improving efficiency across marketing and operations across the company in Lyon, France. Since then, he has been in charge of business operations across Singapore, including Korea, and has represented Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.

"I am much honored to have been appointed in Korea, where Sanofi Pasteur has contributed since 1989," said the new president. "I will make efforts to help Korean families live a healthy life with our employees."

Sanofi Pasteur Korea is a major vaccine supplier in the domestic vaccine market. It is a supplier of influenza vaccine, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis vaccine, DTaP-IPV combo vaccine, Hib vaccine, meningococcal vaccine, Japanese encephalitis live vaccine and hepatitis A vaccine.

Since 2014, Sanofi Pasteur has been pursuing a strategic alliance with SK ChemicalsSK 케미칼 for the development of innovative pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs).
